Who is PowerMix?
Powermix was an idea brought into the world and given life by a couple of individuals who were passionate about the music they played and the joy it would bring to the people around them. These people lit up the streets of Haiti every Carnival ( their version of Mardi Gras ) performing on the main stages captivating the crowds in awe. Their notoriety and talent shined so bright that they were very well known around that part of the Caribbean. Now, one of these men had moved here when he was very young before this and as he would go to share the love in his native country from time to time, he brought some of that same energy to local clubs within his neighborhood in Queens. whilst one of his best friends stayed in Haiti to continue spread the name of Powermix.
One of these individuals is my late father Sony Clerge,
To be able to put into perspective the type of man my father was and my relationship with him is something i have always struggled with. Even writing this now, i have so many things i could say yet none of them can truly describe the admiration and respect i had for this man.
He was someone who worked all day and night doing overtime so that he could provide for his mother and his son. He is the reason i am here and he will live on not through donations or fundraisers, but a dedicated son keeping his father’s legacy alive.
Who Am I?
I am a Dj/Producer/Artist that currently resides in the New York Metropolitan Area, I also tend to frequent the Tampa Florida Area. I currently have 2+ years experience in Music Composition and Blending. On top of that, I also have had extended years of expertise in Musical Performances and have professionally travelled internationally in that matter.
A Dream and A Legacy
"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” (Plato).
A fitting quote to explain the feeling I and many others like myself receive from listening to and creating music. From the freedom to express yourself however you see fit, or the ability to communicate to others as well as connect with people of all different cultures, and even how it is deeply rooted within our connection to one another and the universe itself. To be able to escape your own world and to truly perceive another person’s perspective is truly the gift of music that I inspire to create!
The main goal obviously would be to grow as a business, my desire is to grow as a person and an artist in order to be able to see the world as he saw it.
